Tropic Thunder (2008)

If you find Ben Stiller and Jack Black funny, you may enjoy this movie. I personally did not. I found it wholly unfunny and the conceit of the premise – a movie cast that end up living their own action movie – though interesting, failed to be neither funny nor captivating on any other level. Much has been mad of Robert Downey, Jr. playing a black man, and I guess he does that well enough, but it had about the same comedic power as the Wayans brothers did in White Chicks. I am usually good with meta humor, but humor works best if it is funny. Tropic Thunder was a giant disappointment. Don’t bother if you haven’t wasted your money on it already.
